Origin: lateral border of Scapula (15)
Insertion: inferior Facet of the Greater Tubercle of the Humerus (7)
Actions: Lateral Rotation of the arm (Humerus), it stabilizes Humeral Head in the Glenoid Cavity, assistance in Humerus Adduction
Helping Synergist Muscles:
- together with Supraspinatus (2), Infraspinatus and Deltoid (1) (just posterior fibers) acts to produce the Lateral Rotation
- with Teres Major (5), Subscapularis, Infraspinatus, Pectoralis Major and Latissimus Dorsi acts to assist the Adduction
Notes: together with Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus and Subscapularis joins to form the "Rotator Cuff Muscles"
