Origin: inferior Ramus of the Pubis and the Ramus of Ischium (20)

Insertion: Linea Aspera (15) and Tubercle of Medial Condyle of femur (21)

Actions: Adduction and Internal Rotation of femur

Helping Synergist Muscles:

  • together with Adductor Longus, Adductor Brevis and Gracilis (4) acts to produce the thigh Adduction
  • together with Tensor Fasciae Latae, anterior fibers of Gluteus Medius and Gluteus Minimus acts to produce the Internal Rotation

Notes: the Adductors Magnus is the largest and the most powerful of the adductors group.
