Origin: inferior Pubic Rami (19)

Insertion: Linea Aspera on the posterior surface of the femur (15)

Actions: Adduction and External Rotation of the femur, it joins to produce the Flexion of the thigh on the hip

Helping Synergist Muscles:

  • together with Adductor Longus, Adductor Magnus and Gracilis (4)  acts to produce the Adduction of the thigh
  • together with other Adductors muscles, posterior fibers of Gluteus Maximus and Gluteus Minimus, Sartorius, Ileopsoas (1) and Piriformis acts to produce the External Rotation of the thigh

Notes: the Adductor Brevis is immediately deep to the Pectineus (2) and Adductor Longus
